Lifelong friends Soraya Sebghati (vocals), Jacob Butler (guitar), and Josh Arteaga (bass) became Night Talks in 2014. Their sound is unmistakably original with a nod to the anthemic indie rock of the late '00s /early '10s. Every Night Talks show brings stadium-sound and joyful energy, no matter what the venue.
Night Talks released their first record, "In Dreams," in February 2017. The lead single, "Green," received 3 months of airplay on KROQ's Locals Only, maintaining the #1 spot for a few weeks.
The band's second record, "Same Time Tomorrow," was completed in March 2020. Left with a lot of time on their hands, the band made music videos for each of the 10 tracks on the album, and got to work on new material. The band released several singles from the album, with “On and On” being named #1 song of 2022 on KROQ’s Locals Only. The album was released in February 2022, with a sold-out Troubadour show and a small tour on the books to celebrate. The band ended the year with a month-long residency at The Echo/Echoplex in Los Angeles in November.
2023 has been a busy year. Amidst a consistent schedule of shows in and outside of LA, studios have been Night Talks’ home, evidenced by the release of singles and videos for "Roll On" in June and "Nights" in July, the latter of which was featured on several Spotify Editorial playlists, including “All New Rock” and “Fresh Finds Rock.” The rest of 2023 will see the release of two more singles and videos and find Night Talks back again in the studio and touring across the country.
New Music from Night Talks

A Talking Heads-inspired single about adulthood, and the ways life can get in the way of itself. Alternating between bass groove and vocal breakdown, all resolving in a big, dancey, conga-filled chorus.
Released November 15th, 2023
"Running On A Cloud" is a concept we've joked about for while. It's a reference to those old Roadrunner cartoons. Wile E. Coyote would chase Roadrunner off the edge of a cliff and keep on running, not even paying attention to the fact there was no longer ground underneath his feet. He'd only ever fall when he looked down and realized what was happening. It's been hard to come to terms with certain things in life. I can barely afford to live? I get a couple hours a day to myself for the rest of my life? I'm gonna die?
Just don't look down.
The song was co-produced by Jacob Butler and Carter Jahn, and the song was mixed by Sean O'Brien.

A sensitive piano intro kicks off this spacey disco rocker. With a massive chorus worth the build, rototoms flying ear to ear, and driving instrumentation. "Double Vision" fully encapsulates the Night Talks sound.
Set to be released January 17th, 2024

Double Vision is about a lot of things, but most importantly it's about how things don't seem to change.
Why does it feel like we're constantly being shown the same ideas, the same arguments, the same wars?
Is it our fault, or something else's?
The song was co-produced by Jacob Butler and Carter Jahn, and the song was mixed by Sean O'Brien.

Somewhere between Queens of the Stone Age and Florence and the Machine sits "Nights," a dancey rocker about insomnia and the ways it plays with your head. The song is a one-two punch of guitar riffs and a vocal melody that will stick with you long after the song ends. Released July 12th, 2023.
Nights is a song that was borne of sleep schedules turned on their heads by the 2020 lockdowns. Jacob would pass the evenings playing video games with his friends online, Soraya would let the days after remote work blend together by watching hundreds of movies. The song captures that scary feeling that anything is possible that comes over anyone who's awake between 3-4am-- or what we in the United States know as "the witching hour." The main tracking took place at Avast Studios in Seattle, with vocals, guitars, and synth being tracked in Los Angeles. The song was co-produced by Jacob Butler and Vincent Leslie Jones, and the song was mixed by Carlos de la Garza.
An upbeat song about having so much energy you feel like you're going to burst. This song never fails to get feet tapping and people dancing. Out now!
Roll On was inspired by the struggles of being an independent band when the global pandemic hit. The band had just finished an album in March of 2020, and had no choice but to sit and wait with it until it was safe to play shows again. This song came out of the listlessness of that period of time-- however, it is not a pandemic song. The song was transposed to be timeless. It's a statement about the unpredictable and random state of the music industry. Everyone has to find their own path and their own timeline to whatever success means to them, no matter how tempting it is to compare oneself to everyone else. The main tracking took place at Avast Studios in Seattle, with vocals, guitars, and synth being tracked in Los Angeles. The song was co-produced by Jacob Butler and Vincent Leslie Jones, and the song was mixed by Carlos de la Garza.

SAME TIME TOMORROW
Night Talks released their sophomore album, Same Time Tomorrow, on February 24th 2022 following a sold out Album Release Show at The Troubadour on February 23rd 2022. The newest single from the album "On And On" was in the top 5, including 8 weeks at #1, from February through October 2022. The song was #1 for the year on the show.

The band started recording this record in 2019 and completed everything in early March 2020. When the pandemic changed their release plans, they took the opportunity to make the roll out of this album extra special. They used the newfound free time they had to give each song an accompanying music video– each one conceptualized, directed, edited, costumed, set-dressed, colored by Night Talks. Same Time Tomorrow is a refined rock/pop album with plenty of material to dance, cry, and feel to. This record was a labor of love, and with all the time spent bringing it to the world, they hope it was worth the wait.

FIRST SINGLE - 2021

SOPHOMORE ALBUM:
SAME TIME TOMORROW
Overcome - The feel good hit of the summer! An upbeat, positive pop/rock song with an uplifting lyrical message.
Dancing With My Eyes Closed - The Bee Gees meets Nine Inch Nails. A hip-shaking, sidewalk-strutting anthem about faking it 'til you make it.
Searching - A super high energy pop song that pokes fun at the very concept of pop songs!
Shake Me Awake - The perfect song to get you out of bed and dancing even when you're having a terrible day. This song and its explosive chorus is the antidote to all the stress and tension of the human experience.
Watching Waiting - Imagine you're at a bar and you've just met a mysterious stranger. You want to keep talking to them, but you know you shouldn't. This song captures the tension and excitement of chance encounters.
Nowhere - A spacey, melancholy ballad that still manages to feel like a hug from a close friend.
Tell Me - A bluesy, straightforward rock song with pining vocals that ask "tell me where did I go wrong?"
Too Late - With drums that beat like the ticking of a clock, this frenetic bass-driven ballad is a race against time.
Stranger - U2’s “Joshua Tree” transforms into an LCD Soundsystem dance party.
On and On - Right from the start, this song makes you feel like you're taking off on a fun and mysterious journey into the unknown. The catchy keyboards will make you bop your head while the soft vocals will envelop you. A neat little bow to wrap up the album.
